We are currently seeking an Assistant Manager -EVS & Housekeeping for Aramark operations at the Royal Columbian Hospital.

Reporting to the Manager Operations, the Assitant Manager will be second in command at the site and will plan, administer, and direct all unit activities related to housekeeping and complying with the standards established by Aramark Healthcare, regulatory agencies, and client.  You will lead housekeeping department and hourly staff.  Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other departments to provide a unified service experience for patients, visitors, and employees. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Deliver strong operational performance by executing against Aramark Healthcare and regulatory agency standards and programs, continually monitoring operations, and completing assessments and necessary action plans to provide optimal food quality and meal service.
  • Assits in providing overall direction and managing performance for all front line employees, ensuring employee development, engagement and compliance with human resource related policies and standards, including conducting applicable rounding.
  • Drive resident satisfaction and maintain client relationships through rounding.
  • Ensure compliance to sanitation, and overall workplace safety standards.
  • Supervise, staff, train, conduct applicable rounding, and manage the performance of the front line staff regarding presentation, quality, cost control
  • Manage and control labor, resources, and materials to ensure quality, adequacy of supply, staffing levels, and cost service systems
  • Utilize customer feedback to respond to customer/resident needs and to improve services.
  • Schedule and coordinate staff to perform both weekly and less periodic housekeeping routines for resident rooms and common areas 
  • Ensuring right SOP’s are being followed based on Aramark practices and principles while monitoring efficiencies and standards
  • Develops operational component forecasts and is able to explain variances. Responsible for assisting in component's accounting functions. 

Qualifications

Qualifications

    • Minimum 2-3 years food service management experience in a fast paced food service environment, healthcare environment is preferred
    • Minimum 3-5 years of management experience.
    • Demonstrated experience managing EVS/Housekeeping function would be an asset
    • Willingness to complete criminal record check and vulnerable sector check 
    • Experience with food cost management is essential  
    • Ability to communicate (both verbal and written) effectively with clients, customers of client and support staff
    • Working under a Unionised environment is preferred
    • Requires strong leadership, organizational and planning skills
    • Position requires the ability to work with confidential employee, client and Aramark information
