Description

The Operations Manager will lead a team of 35 FTEs in food, housekeeping, activities and 24 hour concierge services performing tasks such as training, coaching and administrative duties for employees and customers of Martha’s House. Maintains production records and ensures audit compliance. Assists where required.  Participates in catering and special events as required.  Ability to work under no supervision and accomplish tasks in a fast paced environment following departmental guidelines. 

  • Responsible for the full operation of all services at Martha’s House.
  • Liaison between Aramark direct reports and Client representatives.
  • Responsible for menu development participating in food & equipment product evaluation.
  • Review and approve all Revenue and expenses.
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of all large scale catering functions
  • Responsible for E4W, GFF and Kronos input.
  • Review, investigate, and recommend departments Capital Equipment requirements.
  • Financial preparation, monitoring, and adjustments for Aramark Budgets, Client Budgets, and Contract Negotiations.
  • Creation of annual budgets.
  • Preparation and presentation of annual business reviews
  • Perform monthly financial reports to client.
  • Implementation, monitoring, of employee recognition programs.
  • Delivering all training programs to FLE staff upon hire, and annual reviews.
  • Oversee employee performance management and disciplinary process.
  • Attends all required Aramark meetings.
  • Attends weekly staff meeting with client.
  • Chair Aramark Food Group Committee.
  • Chair Food Focus Group.
  • Co-Chair OH&S committee.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings.
  • Maintains established facility and ARAMARK policies, procedures and objectives for quality assurance and safety.
  • Displays polite, spirit-of-service attitude towards customers and co-workers. Maintains friendly, efficient and responsive attitude toward client and client’s customers/patients while performing job duties.
  • Performs all work in accordance with facility, ARAMARK and regulatory safety procedures and requirements including WHMIS, OH&S, & Aramark Audits.
  • Performs all other duties as required.

 

 

Qualifications

Mandatory:

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Must successfully complete the required training program within the defined probationary period.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively with residents, clients, staff, and co-workers.
  • Must have the physical capabilities required for light lifting and constant walking
  • In addition, incumbent must be flexible and adapt easily to changes in schedule, work assignments and environment.  Must be willing and capable of working in fast paced environment.

Preferred:
Minimum 2 year College Diploma with a Management, Hotel/Restaurant or Dietetic specialty, or 5 years related experiance.

 

Provincial or other vocational or professional certification or degree:

  • Food Safe.
  • Advanced Food Safety Training.
  • First Aid.
  • Journeyman Chef Certification Preferred.

Previous Experience Required:

5 years experience in Management in a Healthcare, Hotel or Restaurant facility.

 

Special skills/training needed to perform job or operate equipment:

  • Word, Office and Excel knowledge is required.
