    Description

     

    As the District Manager you will provide overall vision, planning, direction and control to meet operating and financial targets for the assigned Remote locations within a defined area.  A District Manager is asked on a daily basis to make strategic decisions to support, execute and deliver on client remote hospitality expectations.  You will provide leadership to managers and associates, aligning with Aramark Mission and Values.   The District Manager establishes and maintains effective customer service and maintains mutually beneficial business relationships with clients. The District Manager ensures compliance with organizational policies and procedures, and builds collaborative relationships with functional teams. Effective leadership in developing overall financial and business planning will be fundamental.  

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Oversees a district comprised of remote camps located in Central Canada, primarily Ontario.
    • Responsible for all site activities related to food and facilities service.
    • Accountable and responsible for maintaining a culture focused on Safety as a value
    • Reviews and analyzes all reports (financial, human resources, etc.) pertaining to site components; provides and implements recommendations as needed
    • Establishes and maintains client relations to ensure account satisfaction, retention, and growth.
    • Responsible for compliance with provisions of client contracts.
    • Evaluates the quality of services delivered within in each location.
    • Conducts inspections and audits to determine quality of service provided. 
    • Investigates concerns regarding district locations and effects satisfactory solutions.
    • Trains and develops Front Line Managers on programs and procedures such as Customer Service, Culinary Excellence and Waste Management.
    • Works with Management Team on proposals, re-bids, contract negotiations, and new account mobilizations.
    • Visits sites on a regular basis to maintain contact with clients and employees, and to ensure compliance with Aramark standards.
    • Attracts and retains talent within the district.
    • Meets with managers regularly to coach and provide feedback on performance, and to assist in managers' professional development.
    • Manages compliance with Aramark and client standards of operation, client contract and within Business Conduct Policy. 
    • Determines innovative ways to encourage partnerships and support local communities through positive indigenous relations
    • Additional duties may be assigned

    Qualifications

     

    • 5 + years Management/Leadership experience preferably in remote camp or hotel/hospitality industries with multi-site/multi-client operations.
    • 2+ years Culinary experience preferably in remote camp or hotel/hospitality industries.
    • Business Diploma or certificate from recognized Post-Secondary Institution.
    • Successful P&L and budgetary management; exceptional organizational and time management skills with a proven track record of growing accounts.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage in a diverse environment with focus on client and customer services.
    • Self-starter, capable of leading, directing, and supporting a team in a diverse environment with highly developed interpersonal, analytical and communication skills.
    • Travel up to 50% of the time, distance dependent on where the DM resides. 
    • Food Safe Advanced Certifications and First Aid Certification is an asset.
    • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
