    Program Overview:

     

    We’re looking for the new dreamers and doers to join our Accelerate to Leadership (A2L) Program! This early leader development program targets recent college graduates regardless of major and is designed to provide the tools & resources you’ll need to successfully learn the business and set yourself on an accelerated path to a leadership role in the organization!

     

    The A2L Program offers Career Tracks that provide key milestone experiences specific to each career track. These milestones are standardized nationally across all lines of business. The Career Tracks are Food Management, Facilities Management, Culinary Management, Marketing Management, Human Resource Management. 

     

     

    Human Resource Management Career Track

    The A2L Human Resources Career Track will provide support of HR functions in either a generalist position or in a specialized department, which could include Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Training & Development, etc.  Responsibilities for this career track may include the following: assist with recruitment, new hire process, training, project management, labor/union management and employee relations. This position requires a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism as you will have access to sensitive information and may interface with senior management and business clients. In order to qualify for this track, you must have a degree in Human Resource Management or experience in an HR related internship/job.

     

    The A2L Program also provides a combination of trainings, structured account experiences, and on-the-job learning. You’ll spend approximately 15% of your time committed to training and structured program activities, with the rest of your time focused on:

    • On the job training in a leadership or individual contributor position (dependent upon career track)
    • Key milestone experiences specific to the career track that are standardized across all lines of business
    • Structured career path towards a targeted leadership role post program
    • Career readiness training & coaching
    • Direct engagement with peers, mentors & managers
    • Professional network & personal brand development

    This position is based out of Aramark Canada’s head office: 811 Islington Avenue, Toronto, ON.

     

    Job Responsibilities 

    • Provide administrative support and guidance to front line managers through the HR Service Centre in all areas of HR by following defined HR processes.
    • Assist managers in the resolution of basic HR inquiries and escalate complex and high risk inquiries to the relevant HR leaders. Provide to support to HR leaders.
    • Provide consultation to managers on interpretation and compliance of policies and legislation regarding employment related matters.
    • Provide managers with the tools, resources for the process of investigating and resolving complaints, issues and concerns regarding employment practices.
    • Ensure the appropriate level of investigation is assigned and that relevant documentation and resolution is in place using established investigation guidelines
    • Escalate complaints for investigation and follow up on action plans
    • Interact with internal (COEs, Field HR) and external resources (vendors) to obtain needed information to manage work to completion.
    • Assist with the development of HR processes, tools, resources and training
    • Assist with HR projects and initiatives as required
    • Work with front line managers to manage non-occupational leaves including general administration, case management, accommodation and compliance with related policies and employment laws.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree required. (Must graduate between December 2016 – August 2018 to be eligible for the FY18 A2L Program)
    • The start date for this program would be July, 2018.
    • All degree requirements must be completed prior to the start date of the program (including any final internship requirements).  
    • A minimum of 6 months of work experience; including internship/co-op experience.
    • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field is required
    • 1 - 3 years of experience in an employee relations / HR shared service role
    • Strong knowledge of current legislation in ESA, Human Rights Act, Labour Relations Act, Occupational Health & Safety Act and experience working across provincial/territorial and federal employment laws
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills; fact based approach to problem solving; able to communicate with tact and diplomacy
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Ability to influence others on policies, practices and procedure
    • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
    • Ability to analyze information
    • Ability to handle sensitive and highly personal information on a daily basis and maintain confidentiality in a mature and non-judgmental, unbiased manner
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, Word, Power point and working knowledge of HR systems
    • Fluency in French (written and verbal) is mandatory.
    • Must be authorized to work in Canada and not require work authorization sponsorship by Aramark for this position now or in the future
