    Role Scope: 


    Reporting to the AVP Supply Chain, Canada, Director, Supply Chain is responsible for sourcing strategy development, supplier selection, contract negotiations, supplier relationship management, reduction of total cost of ownership, risk management and day-to-day execution.  The Procurement Director drives sourcing programs with a focus on Efficiency, Effectiveness (most optimal Total Delivered Cost), Commercialization, Sustainability, Supplier Diversity and Business Continuity. A key contributor to the creation and implementation of category strategies for selected categories or sub categories of goods and/or services with the support of the AVP and/or Global Procurement Team, including, but not limited to, the execution of all elements of the sourcing strategy (7 Step Sourcing Process, RFI, RFQ, Negotiation, Contracting, Managing).

    The Procurement Director develops and is responsible to keep market expertise current for the categories they are responsible for as well as provides guidance to the business on markets and category risks and opportunities.



    Specific Responsibilities:


    • Lead a team of 3-4 category leads in areas focused on cold and hot beverages, disposables, packaging, and confectionary and snacks.
    • Execute Strategic Sourcing Methodology (Seven Steps)
    • Manage supplier relationships, including strategic suppliers and supplier development
    • Perform market assessments to identify current and future capabilities within the supply base.
    • Provide market intelligence, cost analysis and benchmark studies on his/her area of responsibility
    • Partner and utilize Global Strategic Sourcing processes to identify, evaluate and select new suppliers.
    • Negotiate and finalize supplier contracts, including Service Level Agreements
    • Identify and initiate productivity projects/improved cost efficiencies for the category.
    • Prepare budget & strategic plan for areas of responsibility.
    • Report monthly forecasts, inflation and productivity results
    • Work collaboratively with the Global Category team, the Business Units, Culinary, Operations and Consumer Insights teams to identify, define and align on the mid to long term (minimum 3 years) requirements for the category that drive consumer satisfaction, productivity and innovation.
    • Develop category sourcing strategy in collaboration with all relevant stakeholders.
    • Support Source-to-Pay and audit processes
    • Work collaboratively across the Supply Chain organization in support of the development and implementation of the broader transformation platform, including design structure, SKU rationalization, globalization, and innovation.
    • Support local Supply chain team in resolving supplier issues - e.g. quality issues, material availability, exceptional charges due to extraordinary requests to supplier, etc.
    • Support regional business units with ad-hoc requests requiring supplier/market intelligence.
    • Actively search for innovation ideas of all kinds within the supply base and communicate to business teams.
    • Actively support requests for new material development (innovation, productivity, etc.) through providing recommendations and guidance on sourcing options and then sourcing materials as required by the project team.



    • Ideal role for a Senior Manager of Procurement looking to move up in an organization
    • A Bachelor’s degree is required. MBA or Masters in Supply Chain is preferred.
    • 3-5 years of continuous procurement experience in both, leading buying categories and strategic sourcing in large scale organizations and large amounts of spend.
    • Must have experience in conducting comprehensive supplier analysis and screening, analyzing supplier proposals and using decision-making tools/models, including financial and non-financial criteria, to support the buying teams in negotiations and facilitate award recommendations.
    • Accomplished in working within a matrix environment, build strong cross-functional and cross-regional relationships.
    • Must have solid coaching and influencing skills.
