    We have an opportunity for a Catering Manager, in Toronto for one of our clients who is a globally known e-commerce company and an innovator in the tech industry. If you are a leader who is creative, has passion for what you do and enjoys taking initiative this is the job for you!

    As a Hospitality Manager you will meet with the client to determine catering requirements, floor plans, rentals and staffing for events and you will oversee catering and special events for our client. You will be responsible for managing catering purchases, inventory and budget. Teamwork is important to providing superior customer and food service so as the Catering Manager you will be leading and developing a team, setting the stage for excellent teamwork.  You will be accountable for delivering innovative food offerings and great quality products while meeting health and safety standards and building strong client relations.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Oversee conference & catering functions and special events for internal and external clients/ groups.
    • Meet with clients to determine catering requirements, floor plans, rentals, staffing for events.
    • Responsible for customer booking and creating contracts.
    • Work closely with the Culinary team to plan menus for clients.
    • Responsible for final approval of conference contracts pre-event.
    • Supervising, scheduling,  training and developing staff
    • Identifying key talent, recruiting, staffing
    • Ensure all staff provide quality, courteous service to all customers.
    • Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards.
    • Manage conference and related catering purchases and inventory.
    • Develop and build catering business
    • Responsible for departmental budget
    • Conduct weekly meetings with team
    • Ensure that all outside personnel such as agency waiters and bartenders meet Aramark standards and are well informed about the job we require them to do according to the functions, special events and delivery.
    • Establish and maintain clientele rapports.
    • Resolve client concerns
    • Uphold catering standards through training and taking part in program updates offered through Corporate programs
    • Ensure adherence to Aramark’s policies and procedures
    • Ensure adherence to Aramark’s Health and Safety Programs
    • Perform other duties assigned by your Manager.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Hospitality or Food and Beverage program (and/or requisite industry and management experience).
    • At least 2- 4 years of operational experience within Conference, Event Planning, Catering or Hotel/Banquet setting is required
    • Current ServSafe and TIPS/TABS certification required.
    • Demonstrated experience in successful business growth.
    • Excellent customer service and follow up skills. 
    • Strong leadership skills to manage a team of 3- 8 members and organizational skills.
    • Ability to plan, organize and direct the work of others
    • Ability to multi task.
    • Excitement for the work you are doing
    • Valid driver’s license.
