    We are looking for an Assistant Food Service Director to join our food service operations in Downtown Toronto at a financial services client site. 

    The Assistant Food Service Director will be responsible for planning and managing food service and with a strong focus on catering operations alongside Food Service Director. The successful candidate will meet with clients, plan and develop menus, order product, execute and ensure payment for all events.  There will also be a large emphasis on retail food service outlets, financials and administration.

    • Manage overall operation of unit with the support of the Food Service Director.
    • Assist in unit forecasting and accounting.
    • Coordinate and supervise unit personnel regarding production, merchandising, quality, and cost control as well as labor scheduling, staffing, and employee training.
    • Develop and maintain effective relationships with key client contacts
    • Assist with hiring, coaching, performance management and reviews.
    • Oversee and manage catering operations on site.
    • Ensure client, customer and Aramark objectives are fulfilled
    • Interface with vendors and key service users within client organization.
    • Provide leadership and training for staff.
    • Foster excellent employee morale and customer service.
    • Ensure appropriate training, development and H&S  standards are met.
    • Develop and be accountable for a safety culture that creates a work environment where no one gets hurt.
    • Conduct period inventory; perform other functions such as maintaining records to comply with Aramark, government, and accrediting agency standards.
    • Oversees the implementation and maintenance of marketing and culinary components within the component.
    • Participate in management team meetings.




    • Completion of Hospitality or Food and Beverage diploma/degree or greater experience than the minimum stated.
    • At least 3+ years of food service experience with within catering/banquet operations 
    • Demonstrated experience in successful business growth
    • Strong food knowledge for menu development and costing
    • Strong retail and catering background
    • Proficinet with Ms Office applications including Word, Excel
    • Exceptional communication and customer service skills
    • The ability to manage in a diverse environment with focus on client and customer services, entrepreneurship and building and growing a strong business.

    • Self-directed with strong interpersonal and communications skills.

    • Strong organizational and time management skills.

    • Positive attitude and genuine customer focus orientation
