    Registered Dietitian -  Manager of Wellness, Marketing and Sustainability

     

    RD - Manager of Wellness, Marketing & Sustainability will report to the General Manager, and is responsible for dietary, food safety, marketing and sustainability functions, activities and programs.  Manager of Wellness, Marketing & Sustainability provides support to Managers and Operators in all facets of dietetics, food safety, sustainability and marketing by advising and executing programs, changes and training.

     

    ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES: 

     

    NUTRITION

    • Counsel students on healthy eating habits, and monitor nutritional status to improve quality of life in the university community
    • Monitor food service operations to ensure adherence to nutritional safety, sanitation, and quality standards
    • Works with Managers & Chef to assist in the development of various menus (seasonal menus, nutritionally adequate, focus on vegan, vegetarian, gluten free and allergies)
    • Supervise dietetic interns during administrative and community rotations
    • Coordinate health related training and in-services for campus community
    • Utilize assessment and evaluation techniques that consider the varied needs of age-specific populations as well as cultural, religious, and ethnic concerns
    • Provides nutrition education through booths, dining halls, articles, websites, social media and expos
    • Executes nutrition initiatives & participates in wellness programs on campus

    MARKETING

    • Manage website, online menus and e-commerce products and promotions
    • Conceptualize and design engaging communication material, including advertisements
    • Development and execution of annual meal plan campaigns, including oral and written presentations, to various target groups 
    • Manage social media and public relations campaigns and day-to-day activities. Duties include online advocacy and promotion, writing editorial content for a variety of communication platforms, community-outreach efforts, promotions, building local publication relationships, etc.
    • Manage budget for marketing promotions, and price increases
    • Develops signage for campus (i.e.; pricing, hours, events) when required

    SUSTAINABILITY

    • Facilitate sustainable menus by working with Management, Chef and Suppliers
    • Evaluate current product line and work with industry to source local and sustainable products in line with Aramark Sustainability program
    • Provides education and resources on food service waste management.
    • Participates in University Sustainability Committee

     

     

    Qualifications

     

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Post-Secondary Degree in Nutrition & Dietetics
    • Licensed Registered Dietitian in good standing with College of Dietitians of Alberta
    • Successful completion an internship accredited by Dietitians of Canada 
    • Experience and interest in Food Service Operations
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite required
    • Certified in Advanced Food Safety an asset
    • Experience with Adobe Creative Suites and web design an asset

    • Available to work evenings and/or weekends as required
