    Description

    As a Sous Chef for Aramark operations,  you will coordinate, plan, participate, and supervise the production, preparation and presentation of food for a unit. You will be responsible for providing a safe, sanitary work environment, which conforms to all standards and regulations and achieves profitable, competitive quality products. The Sous Chef supervises and participates in the production, preparation and presentation of all foods for unit as assigned to ensure that a consistent quality product is produced which conforms to all established standards.

      

    • Ensure that all food service standards and quality requirements are met
    • Menu planning, ordering and inventory
    • All aspects of catering management
    • Hands on food preparation and serving when needed
    • Ensure Health & Safety regulations are followed
    • Ensure operation’s level of  profitability and client satisfaction
    • Training and development of employees

     

    Qualifications

    • Minimum three years management experience in a kitchen environment
    • Chef papers, culinary education or very strong cooking capabilities required
    • Strong communication & supervisory skills
    • Good knowledge of company policies & procedures
    • Good knowledge of corporate marketing & promotional programs
    • Good computer knowledge (Ms Word and Excel)
    • Experience in menu costing, menu planning and food preparation
    • ServSafe training an asset
    • Health & Safety  Certification an asset
    • Demonstrates strong financial/analytical abilities
