    Description

    The Executive Chef is responsible for providing leadership in the administration and the management of a consistently high quality food service.  You will be responsible for planning and executing the delivery of food services throughout the location. Your focus will be on quality food production, menu design and food and labour cost management for all on site food services. The role will require the development of a strong culinary team to deliver high quality standards within a budgeted value annually.

     

    • Recruit lead and supervise a team of employees
    • ensure that all food service standards and quality requirements are met at all times
    • menu planning, ordering and inventory
    • Budget responsibility for all culinary food and labour costs
    • Actively participate as part of the senior management team
    • all aspects of catering management
    • hands on food preparation and serving when needed
    • weekly financial reporting
    • ensure Health & Safety regulations are followed
    • ensure operation’s level of profitability and client satisfaction
    • corporate marketing & promotions planning
    • training and development of employees

    Qualifications

    • Three and plus years management experience in a fast paced food service operation
    • Minimum 3 years senior leadership experience in an Executive Chef role
    • Red Seal or Chef paper required
    • Strong communication & supervisory skills
    • Good knowledge of company policies & procedures
    • Good knowledge of Corporate marketing & promotional programs
    • Good computer knowledge (Ms Word and Excel)
    • Experience in menu costing, menu planning and food preparation
    • Proven background in food and labour management
    • Ability to manage a team of up to 50 
    • Previous experience managing in a unionized environment preferred
    • ServSafe training an asset
    • Health & Safety Certification an asset
    • Demonstrates strong financial/analytical abilities
