Description

The IT Director is responsible for all facets of IT system implementations in support of the contract services provided by Aramark, from management of both internal and external project resources, budgets, IT systems, vendors. This position requires someone who is Billingual with fluency in English and French.  

  • Responsible for coordinating directly with operations, client and team management, and ensuring that operational and systems align and meet the needs of the business.
  • Provides leadership for project managers and technical analysis by managing, coordinating, and developing staff of Aramark and third party project managers.
    Operates with significant independence and minimal supervision as the principal project manager and have regular touch points with senior management and project stakeholders.
  • Responsible for providing day-to-day leadership of project team members. Plans, assigns and monitors the deliverables and work product of all project team members for effective operation and results.

 

Technical Expertise

  • Lead technology expert / project manager with implementation of point of sale systems and/or warehoues inventory managmeent systems.
  • Responsible for working with both internally develped and vendor packaged solutions. Experienced with deployment of applications in a multi-function, multi-discipline environment, across a large geographic area.
  • Responsible for overseeing budgets, timelines and resources.
  • Provides administrative support to project teams by following up on action items, updating projects schedules, scheduling project team meetings, and project status reporting, onsite resource scheduling and client/field updates.
  • Track project status, manage and escalate project issues and risks as appropriate. Brings technical and/or business systems knowledge from external sources and incorporates those ideas into IT project management processes and techniques.
  • Advises internal and external clients on business problems, formulates options, including assessing their relative merits and risks, and works with clients to determine the best solution. Builds and maintains up-to-date knowledge about Aramark’s processes, strategies, and industry trends to assess impact on project management function. 
  • Able to effectively communicate highly technical information to numerous audiences, including senior management, the user community, and less-experienced staff. Leads the development of effective networks of internal and external customers, suppliers, the technical community, and consultants. 
  • Solves project/process management problems that may have not been encountered previously in the organization, leverages the technical learning and experiences of other IT staff. Can assess the most complex systems and models. Can analyze complex business and competitive issues and discern their implications for the organization. 
  • Manages all aspects of the Project Life Cycle, from Initiation and Planning, to Execution and Closure. Manages moderate to large sized projects, including those involving multiple technologies, significant operational or implementation risks, complex business functionality, and broad implications for the business and/or the IT architecture. 
  • Responsible for oversight of project budgets, timelines, dependencies, and resource allocations. Communicates out consistent project portfolio status reports to all project stakeholders, including Aramark executive teams and IT leadership.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience. Advanced degree desirable.  PMP Certification desirable.
  • Between 7 to 10 (or more) years of progressively responsible related work experience.
  • Bilingual in French and English is required.
  • Must possess expertise and have experience managing large scale and complex projects across multiple businesses, coordinating between internal stakeholders, clients, and vendors.
  • Individuals must have extensive leadership skills, experience collaborating with senior level management and high profile accounts, and proven track record of implementing complex systems in high volume environments.
  • Previous experience with implementation point of sale systems and/or warehoues inventory managmeent systems. Experience with Appetize integrated point of sale technology or other equivalent cloud-based point of sale technology is preferred
  • Extensive experience managing large scale technology projects, working with both internally develped and vendor packaged solutions
  • Experienced with deployment of applications in a multi-function, multi-discipline environment, across a large geographic area
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the changing business needs for the organziation and the impact these changes have on the impacts business segments and/or functions, as well as the impact on ongoing and future projects.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and follow up skills to be able to engage all stakeholders and provide responses in a timely manner.
  • Can assess the most complex systems and models. Can analyze complex business and competitive issues and discern their implications for the organization.
  • Experience with overseeing project budgets, timelines, dependencies, and resource allocations.
  • Excellent communication skills to ensure consistent follow up and updates on project portfolio status reports to all project stakeholders, including Aramark executive teams and IT leadership.
