Role Summary:

The Director, Digital Technology, is a new position. It has been created in response to Aramark Canada’s growth mandate, supporting the company’s initiatives to remain competitive and relevant in the marketplace. This role will lead work across business units to optimize business strategy through digital channels – specifically around consumer, client and staff experience and other growth strategies for the business.

This position will be responsible for strategic oversight of the recommendation, rollout and optimization of technology solutions for Aramark’s current and prospective clients in Canada. The importance of this is to help the organization adapt and customize enterprise solutions that address core customer needs: convenience, quality, health & wellness and personalization while differentiating Aramark’s go-to-market approach.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Act as the Canadian subject matter expert for digital technology.
  • Work closely with the US Consumer Facing Technology team to develop a deep understanding of current and emerging technology offerings including features and benefits.
  • Provide digital consultative services to differentiate Aramark in its business development efforts, helping articulate how consumer facing technology offerings can meet customer needs and drive business results for clients.
  • Interface with US Consumer Facing Technology project management, operations and marketing to ensure successful implementation.
  • Lead strategic engagements that derive insight and provide recommendations to the business in quality presentations to improve retail and / or service performance.
  • Clearly develop, document and communicate any Canadian requirements for new and pending technology innovations to help manage the continual refinement of capabilities.
  • Work closely with national marketing manager and regional marketing managers to continually drive awareness, adoption and usage of digital solutions.
  • Distribute measurement dashboards and provide input on what needs to be measured and reported.
  • Travel is a key component of the role, approximately 25-30% across Canada and the US






Skills and Experience:

The ideal candidate is passionate about how technology can be used effectively to meet customer needs and drive business. They will have a combination of business experience and technology, along with proven consulting and / or management skills driving strategic projects within complex situations and organizations. They are unrelenting when it comes to creating an excellent user experience, and have a service-oriented mindset. This candidate also has the ability to see the big picture, while rolling up his/ her sleeves to ensure effective execution.


  • University Degree in Business and/ or Technology Management required. MBA preferred
  • Proven expertise managing large scale technology projects, both internally-developed and third party solutions (10+ years of experience required) ideally in retail or hospitality
  • Strong strategic capabilities, with a proven track record for implementation
  • Digital project management experience gained, ideally, at a digital marketing agency or consulting firm
  • Strong team management and communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously
  • Analytical mindset with working knowledge of key digital measurement tools
  • Work closely with national marketing manager and regional marketing managers to continually drive awareness, adoption and usage of digital solutions.
  • B2B as well as B2C experience
  • Superior conceptual, analytical and project management skills
