Description

Reporting to the the Food Service Director, the Front of House Manager is responsible for providing operational assistance by overseeing all activities and supervising and directing all supervisory and front line employees in the unit(s).

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES

  • Supervise the day to day operations of the food services, includes delegating tasks, motivating and coaching employees as required.
  • Meet daily with the Food Service Director to discuss operational and staffing concerns
  • Assist with flow of day to day operations on the floor
  • Manage and direct food production planning, waste management, record keeping, follow up, and modification based on business volumes
  • Ensure food safety standards and HACCP enforced at all times
  • Completes all recruitment, training and orientation of staff
  • Responsible for staff scheduling and filling shifts as needed in a unionized environment
  • Assist in staff related issues such as vacation requests, progressive discipline and other operational concerns as they arise.

Qualifications

  • A minimum 1 year management experience, food service environment preferred
  • Ability to work successfully in a team environment
  • Ability to manage people and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous supervisory experience role with scheduling and human resource responsibilities
  • Familiar with Collective Agreements, and their application in the workplace
  • Post Secondary Education is an asset, with a focus on Hospitality Management, Human Resources, or Business Management
  • Ability to work flexible hours is essential. This is shift work and will include early mornings, evenings, and weekends/holidays
